Get Your Nail Freak On!

An Honest Review of Jamberry Trushine Gel Manicure Kit

Are you a nail freak like me? I love doing my nails. Correction- I love perfectly manicured nails.  Yep! That's me! Obsessed. Back in the day, I always did my nails. I was a diy-er. I began at a very young age too! I felt like I was ALWAYS doing my nails because they would chip every few days. So, as I got older, I decided to go to the salon for gel nails. Yes, more expensive but the professional look was exactly what I wanted and loved. Now today, they have many gel kits where you can diy in your own home. So I  am back to being a diy nail junky.

Who am I?
I am an independent consultant for Jamberry Nails. I actually donate all my net proceeds (commissions) to the charity of the hostess's choice. So I have nothing to gain from this review or analysis. Except charitable donations. I personally do not make anything from Jamberry because I donate my commissions.  To date, I have donated through FB Jamberry parties $1,000 to Parkinson's Research. :)

Trushine Review
I was actually a little skeptical when a new gel kit from Jamberry came out. It's called Trushine. Jamberry's flagship products are nail wraps. Just so you know, I love the Trushine and I love the nail wraps with my gel manicure! Here is a picture of day 1 and day 14 with my Trushine gel manicure and a Jamberry nail wrap. Impressive, right?

Jamberry Trushine
Pros:

  • Quick -15-20 minutes
  • Easy - paint and cure
  • Professional looking
  • Shiny
  • No dry time
  • Durable -lasts for 2 weeks with no chipping
  • Easy removal
  • Doesn't damage nails
  • 5 free formula- free of harmful carcinogens found in other nail polishes and lacquers on the market
  • Does not use a uv light that can cause cancer. Uses a led light.

Cons

  • $120 for the kit (It is less expensive if host a party)
  • $20-$24 for additional gel lacquers

Cost Analysis
So, do the pros out-way the cons? I will be honest,  I actually had a hard time swallowing the initial cost for a starter kit. Because I am a consultant, I did get it cheaper. So, I did an analysis of how much it costs per gel manicure for a Sally Hanson Miracle Gel kit, a salon gel manicure and a Trushine Jamberry gel manicure. Take a look.

As you can see from this chart, Jamberry is not the cheapest for gel manicures, but it's also not the most expensive.  I think the market Jamberry is going after are the avid diy nail women who want perfect nails and will spend a little more than a drug store manicure.  Let's face it, drug store manicures may last a week before it chips. So that means you are doing your nails more often.  I am Jamberry's  target market. I love perfect nails and I don't want to spend a lot at a salon.  Plus, in all honesty, salons kinda gross me out.

Summary
So, in summary, the outright initial purchase of Trushine may be a little expensive and hard to justify at first. However,  I hope I just showed you from my picture, chart and all the pros that it's worth the money! Trushine is a long lasting, professional looking gel manicure!

Jamberry For A Cause!

A Unique Business Plan – Jamberry for a Cause!
I am so excited!  I am happy to announce that my 1st Jamberry Nail Wrap Party is a total success!  Just so you know, all of my Jamberry Parties are different.  How?  My number one goal is to raise money for your cause/charity of choice.  When you sign up to have a FB online party or home party, all of my proceeds will be donated to YOUR charity.  In addition, if you would like to increase donations to reach your charitable goal, I will create a donations page where people who are not into Jamberry can still contribute to your cause.   The FB Jamberry for a Cause party lasts one week and I have to say, during that week, it is a lot of fun!  Games are played with your fb friends and interactions/connections are made while raising money.  Who doesn’t like pretty, nice nails girlfriends?  I know I do!  Your friends can learn about a new, hot nail wrap product, have nice nails and help people!

My First Party:
Parkinson’s Research and the Michael J Fox Foundation

When someone you love very much is struck with a disease, it is hard to swallow. You want to do everything you can to help them.  It’s just not FAIR! Why! My mother was recently diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease. I wanted to help her but didn’t know how.  Sure, I can be there for love and support but I just felt a need to do more.  That is why I decided to raise money for charities.  My first Jamberry Party for Parkinson’s is my way of helping my loved one who is in search for a cure. I have combined a hobby, Jamberry Nails, and a desire, helping others,  into a unique business plan: Jamberry for a Cause.

My Jamberry Parkinson’s Goal - $1,000!!!
So far, The Jamberry Parkinson Party has raised over $950 for Team Fox (Michael J. Fox Foundation).  This goal consists of my Jamberry sale proceeds and other charitable donations. I still have 2 more days left in the party.  I hope to raise $1,000 for Parkinson’s Research.  Not bad for my first party!  I have found that people WANT to give especially if they know the person who has the illness.  It is their way to help. In addition, the FB party is actually fun!

What is Your Cause?

Everyone has one!  Right?  My causes are Diabetes, Parkinson’s, Children, Dogs.  Do you have a cause that means something to you?  Do something!  Help!  “Gosh “Jam” It!  You can make a difference.  Have a Jamberry Party for a Cause!

Welcome! What's different THIS time!

Last Time......
Yeah yeah yeah......so here Tara goes again....signing up for another MLM company.  She is going to be all gung ho with it and try to sell us.  Well friends....Its DIFFERENT this time. I promise. With Nerium, I loved it so much.  However,  I had to go on medicine and I had a bad allergic reaction to the cream.  I was not changing my meds so it was goodbye to Nerium. I couldn't sell something that I couldn't use.  Just wasn't me. And I did have a hard time selling.  I can's say I loved it.

This Time!
This time, its a little different. I found a hobby.  I cool hobby.  Charity Nails! What is that you ask?  Initially, I did find a hobby with my own nails and Meg's nails. We ordered Jamberry nail wraps from my friend's FB party.  Well, hello! Can you say obsessed!?  I love these wraps. They are so cool and fun! I kept on ordering more wraps and more wraps in a short amount of time....and my friend said to me Tara, just join our company.  "NO NO NO! I am not selling! I am done." I said to her.   But she said its more cost effective if you join.  So after a few weeks of thinking about it, I joined.....but only under the assumption that I am saving money....ok,. ok? I am not having FB parties and I am NOT selling to my friends!  Just a hobbyist. Just a hobby! It's just cost effective!

But What If.....
My friend is a consultant and she had a fundraiser for her first party. I thought it was so special and of course I order bc it was for dogs :) I thought what if I do that? Just have parties that is for a cause. I am doing this Jamberry as a hobby. What if I make a difference and still have fun with my hobby. So that is where I came up with the idea. Charity nails. Gosh "Jam" it! You can make a difference! I will donate my commissions to the charity of the host's choice.

I Booked My First Party! A Child's Christmas :)
I know, it's 7 months away, but I did it. Teaming up with the residents of Riverside and having a FB Jamberry party, All my commissions go to buying Christmas presents for an adopt a family in Riverside. I am happy!
